#BlackHistoryFacts for March 14: Black protest the denial of right to vote, U.S. Army establishes camp for black officers

On this day in 1838, black people held a mass meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to protest the action of the Pennsylvania Reform Convention of 1837 which denied them the right to vote.

In 1917, the U.S. Army established a training camp for black officers in Des Moines, Iowa.
